Through a multi-step process of layering fabric, plastic, plaster, and paint, each canvas work evolves from a flat surface into a unique three-dimensional landscape reminiscent of debris-laden lahar flows, all encased in a hardened iridescent shell.

I’ve made drawings, designs, installations, and sounds, but two aspects of visual art I always return to are texture and color. this series involves a lot of paint and canvases, although I wouldn’t say I’m a painter… more like, a bloopy glooper. a Sleemy Weemy, if you will.

Sometimes the process is also a bit like drawing, but instead of a pen or pencil I’m using a mess. did you know that if you think about licking something then your tongue will know what it feels like? Put this in your eyeball and lick it.

these next 5 are where it all began. I initially set out to make some cute dioramas depicting the aftermath of a gum volcano erupting over a valley of toys, and in that, I’d say I succeeded.
